»Bathroom Faucet
Bathroom faucets should accentuate the overall appearance of your bathroom. You can choose from a large selection available at hardware stores, do it yourself home centers, bath remodeling showrooms and plumbing wholesalers. You can also shop online. Whether you are replacing an existing faucet or buying for a new bathroom, you should explore your options.
Decide on your budget before going to the store. Consider the quality of the faucet and how expensive the repairs will be.
Determine the size of an existing bathroom faucet for replacing. Choose the new faucet with the same layout as the old one. Measure the space between the holes. This will commonly be four, six, eight or twelve inches apart.
Choosing a style. The single hole style has two handles and a spigot in one unit. The center-set style has one handle and the widespread style has two handles and the spigot all as separate pieces. The type of tub or sink will also determine the style of faucet. Spout and handles can mount on the platform, on the rim, through pre-drilled holes in tub or on a wall in a tub and shower combination.

You have lots of options when selecting new bathroom faucets; various styles, finishes & features!
Choose the material. Solid brass lasts the longest and requires the least care, but is most expensive. Die cast zinc alloy cost less and are still durable. Low-end plastic bodies probably won’t last as long.
Pick a finish. Choices include electroplated chrome, natural brass, pewter, nickel and satin. Painted or enamel finishes come in a wide array of colors, but chip and scratch easily. Forget the days of the plain chrome faucet. Today’s faucets add personality to any bath not only with their sleek designs, but also through a broad array of designer finish options. Chrome will always be a classic finish. But new finish options can really create an eye-catching look at the sink. Surpassing chrome in popularity are brushed finishes and oil rubbed bronze. These designer finishes cost a bit more, but they create a coordinated look and can tie into the whole decor of a home.
Select the type of handle you want. Choose from pull handles, single or double handles or round knobs that turn. Spray options for the shower include handheld models or multiple showerheads. But, there’s more to a faucet than just a spout. Don’t forget to consider the types of handles you prefer. The choice between a single handle and a two-handle faucet is best made by considering your needs. Single handle faucets can be easier to use and more convenient, particularly for children or individuals who may have difficulty turning a lever.
Two handle faucets offer a broader variety of design options. "This style is more prevalent in powder rooms or master baths, where homeowners are looking for a specific style to match a certain décor. With two handle faucets, you will also have more choices of handle style, which include lever, cross, or knob. If you like the look of a two handle faucet, but are concerned about ease of use, choose a lever style handle which is easier to manipulate and provides precise temperature adjustment.
